ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Babette Burrell came upon kombucha while in Hawaii doing the Soprlusi Institute International Artist Residency. The kombucha flowed ice cold from the kegs, and tasted amazing, like nothing she had tasted before. When she got home, she immediately schooled herself on making kombucha and started sharing her creations to friends and family. The response prompted her to start this adventure.
The idea of The Witches Brew came from her work as a midwife, and her reverence of tradition, ritual and community healing. Kombucha has many benefits. It has been known to reduce cholesterol, and assist in weight loss. The Witches Brew is located in Kensington Market
