one shelf (full circle): $12 $18
All firing fees are per person. All fees listed are per firing and are paid prior to firing. The prices indicated are for standard slow firing cycles, up to cone 6. A loading fee of $25/hour will be added if the shop technician needs assistance loading the kiln. Glaze firing greenware is prohibited. Pieces must be bisque fired prior to glaze firing.
(Give us a call to find out if your work is ready for pick up!)
BISQUE FIRE: CONE 06-FRIDAY (UNLOADED TUESDAY MORNING)
HIGH FIRE: CONE 6-WEDNESDAY (UNLOADED SATURDAY MORNING)
Renting a full kiln is approved on a case by case basis. *If you do not have enough items to fill the kiln, your firing will be canceled.* Shelves are 26" dia. and the kiln is 2' tall. Shelves can be added at various heights depending on the size of pieces being fired. Renting a full kiln allows you to determine which date your items are fired (scheduled around The Shop's regular firing schedule) and gives you priority on filling the kiln. Price is calculated per shelf, with a minimum spend of $64 (i.e. less than 3.5 shelves = $64 for non-members). Other peoples' work will then be loaded into the kiln, space permitting, and charged per shelf.
The Shop is not responsible for a piece cracking, breaking, blistering, exploding or any other type of unsatisfactory result. Any damage to the kiln furniture, including shelving or posts, due to misuse of glazes/clay will be the responsibility of the maker and a replacement fee will apply.
*Items turned on the wheel must be trimmed no later than 1 week after being made or they will dry out*
*Items must be picked up within two weeks of being glazed*
