What sort of equipment and materials do you offer in the studio?

The Shop is solely a ceramics and craft studio.  We do not offer any woodworking or metal work.

Can anyone become a member or take classes at The Shop?

The Shop’s workshops, classes, and events are open to adults 18+ unless otherwise specified.

How exactly do memberships and drop-in passes work?

We provide the space, tools, and equipment, you bring the ideas.  We have clay and glazes for purchase, or you can bring in your own, as long as it is cone 6.  If you do bring in your own clay or glaze, the exact packaging must be brought in and a test must be done.

Can I bring my kids with me for the day?

Due to the busy nature of our studio, we do not allow kids under the age of 15 in the studio.

If I purchase a day pass, can I stay on the wheel all day?

During busy times, we break up our wheel use to morning and afternoon sessions.  Morning sessions go from 10-1:30 and the afternoon session from 1:30-5.  You can, however, stay in the studio all day.

I am a month member, how does renewing work?

If you are continuing to be a member here in the studio, your next month starts the next day after your previous month expires, despite when new payment is received.

I notice you are at capacity for memberships, can I join for the following month?

Our memberships run for 4 weeks from the day you purchase, they are not based on the calendar year.  Current members automatically have the option to renew.  A new membership spot will only open up once a current member decides to not continue.

Can I make work at home and bring it in to fire?

Unfortunately not.  We do not fire any outside work.

How does locker storage work?

Lockers are available on a first come, first serve basis and cost $15 for 4 weeks.  The Shop does not supply the locks.  In addition to lockers, The Shop provides cubbies within the facility for personal items on the day of your visit.  The Shop is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

How long will you keep work at The Shop for?

We will keep all work for 2 weeks. Please try and arrange for pick up within this time frame.

What is the size of your kiln and how hot does it get?

We have 2 large 10 cubic foot kiln that fire up to cone 6.

Why do your classes range in price?

The cost of our classes are determined by taking into consideration the cost of materials, the cost of operating our shop, fair payment of our instructors, as well as other nominal expenses.  We work hard to bring exciting and engaging classes and workshops that are fairly priced and accessible.

The workshop I want is sold out.  Is there a waiting list?

You can join our mailing list here to be notified as soon as new classes are listed.  You can also email us to have your name placed on a specific class waitlist.

I noticed a class went on sale, can I get a price adjustment?

The Shop reserves the right to have occasional sales and to offer discounts on classes.  Unfortunately, price adjustments to previously purchased tickets are not permitted.

What is your cancellation policy for workshops?

a. Workshops are non-refundable due to the planning and purchasing of materials that takes place before each workshop is run.  We do not offer any exchanges or credits for missed classes.   In lieu of attending the workshop, you can also choose to transfer your seat to a friend, but must notify us in advance

b. If a student misses a single class in a series or a portion of a class, The Shop and its instructors cannot be responsible for make-up sessions.  Students should inform their instructor or The Shop as soon as they are aware of a session they will miss.
