It's back to school season, which means it's the perfect time to brush up on your lettering skills. This starter class with Sam Dubeau of Have & Hold Design will cover the basics of using various hand lettering tools, from brush pens to calligraphy nibs. You will be taught the necessary strokes and techniques, helpful tips, and varying styles to start developing your very own polished look to your writing.  Styles covered will include: Modern, Elegant, Tall, Italic, and Pen Caps, including Flourishing.

Great for all skill levels.  No previous experience required.

An essentials calligraphy supply kit, valued at $50, is included.  Kit includes: Brush Pens, Broad Nib Pens, Chalk Markers, and Pointed Pen Calligraphy Nibs as well as paper.

ABOUT THE TEACHER:

Sam Dubeau is a stationery designer and letterer who graduated from the York/Sheridan Joint Program. She runs Have & Hold Design, focusing on greetings, invitations, and print pieces for weddings and other special events. When not working in her home studio, she's often found on the ice working as a skating coach.
