LOOM WEAVING *SOLD OUT*

In this 3 hour beginner weaving workshop with Toronto fibre artist Carmen Vicente, you’ll learn the basics of weaving on a frame loom. We will cover foundational skills like warping your loom, finishing techniques, and how to display your completed weaving, but also stylistic approaches to creating texture, fringe, and shapes throughout. You’ll begin your project in class, and likely finish it at home, applying all your newfound tips and tricks. Yours to keep are the photo-heavy instruction booklet, handmade wooden loom (designed and built by Carmen and her husband right here in Toronto!), a variety of yarns, and tapestry needle.

Very light snacks and refreshments will be included.

All materials and looms included.

About the instructor:

Carmen Vicente is a fibre artist, enthusiast, and teacher living in Toronto ON. She learned to knit at a young age, spin yarn in her teens, and weave in her twenties. For her, finding wool was a revelation and she considers her work with it to be a lifelong practice – a meditative, focused effort to make connections with people, places, and time. When she’s not sitting in front of the loom or clicking two knitting needles together, she enjoys getting out in the wilderness, cooking, and keeping up with those damn Kardashians.
